A peaceful sunny place to stay in Tiberias located in the upper part of Tiberias with a beautiful view of the Sea of Galilee . A scenic bed and breakfast for Jewish or Gentile believers in Yeshua (Jesus). Your "home away from home" to launch out and see the many historical sites or just relax.

The Quiet Place is located in Mordot Tverya on the bus route 4 & 6 (upper part of Tiberias). It is a short trip to the beach, shopping, and historic sites. With access to internet (wireless internet available), paid laundry facilities and delicious home-made breakfast. Baby crib available.

The Tiberias promenade is on the Sea of Galilee with many restaurants as well as the Galilee Experience where you can see a multimedia presentation of the history of the Galilee. There is also a free light show in the evenings. South of the Old City is Hamat Tiberias National Park, which includes seventeen hot springs besides another large hot springs site south of the Lake called Hamat Gader with Roman ruins and a large alligator farm. Also to the south is Yardenit , a traditional baptismal site on the Jordan river.

Traveling around the Sea of Galilee (Kineret) there are many sights to see such as the Cliffs of Arbel wonderful for a hike with a stunning view of the Sea of Galilee, the Jesus boat at Kibbutz Ginosar- a 2000 year old preserved fishing boat on display. There are also boat rides on the Sea of Galilee in replicas of the Jesus boat. (Must be arranged ahead of time.) The Mount of Beatitudes commemorates the location where Jesus taught the Sermon on the Mount. Tabgha is the traditional site of the multiplication of the loaves and the fish. Capernaum (Kfar Nahum) is where Jesus lived during much of the time of his ministry in the Galilee and has an ancient synagogue and Peter's house. Beitsaida to the south is known as the birthplace of three of the Apostles – Peter, Andrew and Philip.

To the west is Nazareth, the boyhood home of Jesus. You can visit The Nazareth Village, an authentically constructed first-century town and restored ancient farm. The story of Jesus' childhood, ministry, and teaching are retold with elements of everyday life re-enacted. Kfar Kana is where Jesus did his first miracle of changing the water into wine at a wedding.Zippori was once the largest city in the Galilee at the time of Jesus and it is possible that he and his father worked there. Mount Tavor in Biblical times was the place of Deborah's battle together with Barak against Sisera's army. Today it is traditionally known as the mount of transfiguration.

To the north you can visit Tzfat (Safed), An ancient Galilean city, the highest in Israel, with cobble-stoned walkways and artists shops provides visitors with amazing views of the Galilee and Mount Hermon. In the Hula Nature Reserve visitors can see the the plants and animals that are indigenous to the area as well as migrating birds. Dan is the location where Jeroboam constructed a podium to house the golden calf. Banias - Caesarea Philippi has one of the largest springs feeding the Jordan River and has been beautifully developed as a hiking area that is especially refreshing during the summer season. Numerous temples were built in this city during the Hellenistic and Roman periods. Nimrod's Fortress is one of the castles was built by the Muslims, which changed hands several times in the 12th century. The fortress was strengthened in the 13th century and most remains visible today are from that period. Mount Hermon in the Bible is known as Ba’al Hermon, Sirion, and Sion. Today one can ski on Mount Hermon in the winter. Gamla is the site of a Jewish city founded in the second-century in the Hasmonean times, located on a craggy basalt outcropping in the western Golan Heights. The ancient town of Qatzrin was inhabited on and off from the Middle Bronze Age (about 4,000 years ago) and archeological digs have found evidence of a Jewish village from the Talmudic period, which existed until the Moslem conquest just over 1,300 years ago.

Around the Galilee are many kibbutzim including the first kibbutz (collective community) at Degania. Active people can enjoy horseback riding, swimming, boating, hiking, camping, kayaking and many other outdoor activities.

DIRECTIONS:

Drive down toward Tiberias on the road 77, turn right at the yellow Paz gas station (traffic light #2) onto Sderot Sapir. (You will see a sign that says Tiberias Illit) At the first traffic circle turn left on the 3rd exit onto Shaked Street. Take the first right onto Duvdevan Street. It is near the end of Duvdevan on the left directly after the last bus stop. House number 402/5. The numbers are not consistent on the street. It is directly across from the number 53. Park on the street in a parallel space and go down two sets of stairs. At the bottom, turn right on the path and take the first left. The flat is the one on the left with the green fence.
