On lower Mount Carmel is Elijah's Cave. As you travel to the top of the mountain you can visit Mukraka Monastery, where Elijah slew the prophets of ba'al. Nearby are Druze Villages known for their attractive tourist markets. To the north is Akko with crusader walls. To the south, beautiful Caesarea was as a capital
and port in the Roman and Byzantine times and place where the Gospel was first shared with the gentiles. You can visit the ancient town, aqueduct, harbor and beach. Megiddo lies east across the Galilee; the site where the battle of Armageddon is prophesized to take place. Further east is Nazareth, Yeshua's home town and Kfar Kana where he performed his first miracle. MAP

DIRECTIONS:

From the coastal road (#2) you enter Haifa taking the first exit that is labeled to Carmel, Neve Shanan, and Beach. There is an additional sign right before the turn that says Technion. The exit is a right turn immediately after you see the signs. The ramp veers to the right and you should get in the left lane. Turn left at the light and go up the hill on Moshe Flieman. The blue convention center will be on your left and the mall on the right. Go all the way to the top of the hill. The same road changes name to Freud. At the light at the very top, go left at the T intersection onto Horev Street. Go straight and you will come to a traffic circle. (the road is now called Moriya). Continue straight through the traffic circle and get into the left lane. You will approach a double traffic light. At the intersection (second light), turn left onto Zafririm. The neighborhood is called Carmelia. Go straight till the Y intersection (as road veers to the left it changes names to Boaz). At the Y, turn right. There will be a traffic circle. At the circle make a far right onto Alexander Yani. Drive to the end of the road to the T intersection and turn left onto Shlomzion Street. I am the 2nd apartment on the right. The building is set a bit back from the road. Use the first parking space closest to the side walk in front of the building. Building number 10, apartment number one.
